hi everyone! happy national day! :)
its a long weekend for most people but it stays the same for me. haha.
ed's back from sydney with the best pastries for me. krispy kreme, belle fleur dark chocolates, adriano zumbo's macarons and macaron cake(!!!) adriano zumbo's pastries are one of the best ive ever eaten in my life! it was really, really awesome. beyond words kinda awesomeness yknw? besides, im a pastry freak. and i mean it. heh heh. i'd die for cakes and any sweet treats!
ROSES ARE RED MANDIES ARE ORANGE: Biscuit macaron, rose creme brulee, mandarin curd, mandarin creme legere (Gluten Free)
this is the macaron cake i had! its about 10x the size of a normal macaron in terms of height and diameter, just like a small cake! even the macarons there were just awesome. usuallly we have the biscuit macaron with a single layer of creme in between but this was just different. the creme was thick with some nuts or somesort of stuff!!

a photo of the macaron innards.
just look at how thick the creme is.
verdict? singapore's standard of macaron - NO FIGHT.

belle fleur chocolates. one of the most famous chocolate brands in aussie i heard :) ed got me the dark chocolate. i must say the aftertaste was awfully bitter cus it lingered at the back of my tongue for a really long time. but the bites will never fail you :) very authentic dark chocolate.

terrence's birthday dinner at cafe swiss, raffles city.
price per pax : about $73
not sure if it was national day weekend thus the price or if its the usual pricing.
cafe swiss serves swiss and asian food. i'd say avoid all the local asian food there like roti prata and oyster omelette because theyre the groasest ive ever had. none were fragrant. pastries were savoury. they werent too sweet and very pleasant for the tastebuds.
ambience was an eight (i love the high ceiling concept. makes the place look really sophisticated) and service was rather decent.
met up with abi and germy for high tea at twg tea on a sat afternoon! miss this two girls!! ive been more than two years since ive last saw them. seriously, abigail stays the same and i believe she always will. well... nothing bad about it anyway. its just that her character doesnt suit her future potential lawyer job. haha!

three of us!

TWG at ion.

we had a celebration set and croque imperial with two different set of teas.
The celebration tea time set consists of a choice of TWG tea, a selection of three finger sandwiches including foie gras, smoked salmon with mascarpone and chives, and the rather adventurous, roma tomatoes and moroccan mint tea infused sauce. For an extra sweet touch, you can also choose two homemade scones or muffins with TWG jelly and whipped cream, or a patisserie, and a choice of three macaroons. The macaroons come in quirky flavours such as Napoleon tea and caramel, earl grey and chocolate and lemon bush tea. tea flavoured macarons are such love since theyre not too sweet.
it would be fun for a girls dayout! :) cost about $30-$35 per pax for the celebration set.
^^
ohyesss!! my bangs are back! and i dyed my hair AGAIN. got it done at toni& guy essensuals this time. i trimmed my bangs three times because i was so anal about getting it perfect. i think i look so much younger like that. its important when i think i look +2 my age. that sucks. people tend to think im about 23! ): i think i'd rather be petite now so i'd look younger.
