9/7/10 04:47 am - LOEWE!

i just spent my night reading alot on financial planning stuff and a book recommended by lilin "secrets of a millionaire mind"

just a few things and quotes to share that ive read from the book which i found useful :)

"the lesson is simple. if you want to move to a higher level of life, you have to be willing to let go of some of your old ways of thinking and being and adopt new ones. the results will eventually speak for themselves. the fact is that your character, your thinking, and your beliefs are a critical part of what determines the level of your sucess."

"money is a result, wealth is a result, heath is a result, illness is a result, your weight is a result. we live in a world of cause and effect"

"your inner world creates your outer world"

"Because money is not the root of problem; fear is.  whats even worse is that fear is not just a problem, its a habit"

"consciousness is observing your thoughts and actions so that you can live from true choice in the present moment rather than being ran by programming from the past"

i love motivational quotes. they always inspire me to achieve something better, always.

anyway, sidetrack.
okay i have to admit im a mad loewe fan/addict/whatever

8/29/10 03:29 pm - kuriya penthouse

KURIYA PENTHOUSE!

The restaurant was rather posh, the service was fantastic and you get to enjoy great view of the city!  we had the  omakase "shun" 7 course dinner set which the bill totaled to about $400 for 2 pax.
kuriya penthouse serves really authentic japanese cuisine.
the staff will escort you out to the lovely alfresco terrace for a welcome cocktail/mocktail drink. i took the mocktail to avoid alcohol for one entire week cus i had a crazy friday at butter! when youre done with your welcome drinks, they will serve you food in the airconditioned area of the restaurant. the service was impeccable! the staff there are really polite and took time to ensure we understood the dishes. i loved the sashimi, it was MAD FRESH. one of the best ive eaten so far and this is no faint praise! and another of my favourite dish was the sliced toro(tuna belly) with sweetened corn fruit. oh! and before that, they would actually ask you if you have any food preferences! so if you do point out something that you dont consume, they will serve you an alternative! how thoughtful is that!
all in all, the dishes are unique and interesting in taste, very different from the regular japanese restaurant serves.

the photos below do not belong to me (i was happily eating and chatting that i totally forgot i had a camera!) they are credited to respective owners. thank you! :)

sashimi with seaweed! the seaweed you see on the smallest dish IS SUPER ADDICTIVE!! they serve the sashimi with shoyu and some other sauces. im not sure what is it called but its pretty sweet and delectable with the sashimi. and yes this is the mad fresh sashimi i was refering to! the sweet prawn is directly imported from hokkaido ^^

japanese claypot rice. not too sticky nor over filling. its just good and comfy on the tummy!

mousse desserts. a selection to choose from! :)
at this point of time, the manager of the company came to our table and said "i overheard your conversation about butter, you guys frequent butter?" we were like yes! every friday then he replied "oh! i know the bosses there, bobby and some other guy" so we went like ohyess!! bobby!!! hahaha :)how coincidental is that! and he started to tell us other good food and party places at the sentosa (like tanjong beach) and stuff! it was nice talking to him before he got busy with the other customers! :)

japanese fruit platter. the rock melon was really sweet! the champange grapes were the best!!! <3

the dining area

alfresco garden rooftop. on top of good food, you get to enjoy paranomic cityscape overlooking the istana, marina bay and shenton way area!

"welcome drinks"

sakes on display!

starter dish. beancurd with japanese caviar.

those photos are just part of the menu! i couldnt find the rest of the net, sadly ): i promise i'll remember to take photos of the food no matter how busy i am chatting away! haha

i would totally be back there for its lovely ambience and service! they even have a resident magician (his name is koji if im not wrong) to entertain the guest table to table! very interesting and not intrusive at all if youre thinking he would disrupt your romantic dinners! cus hes at your call anytime you want! :)

location : kuriya penthouse at orchard central. #12-02
average pricing as reviewed by others : $120 to $300 per pax depending on menu choice

8/24/10 03:52 am - maybe im cold hearted

I think it comes down to my need for a man's-man. I like my guy to be strong in every aspect. man tears never impress me. so thats why when boys cry, i immediately press the mute, pause and off button .

man-tears freak me out.

8/10/10 01:34 am - FOOD IS LIFE.

hi everyone! happy national day! :)
its a long weekend for most people but it stays the same for me. haha.
ed's back from sydney with the best pastries for me. krispy kreme, belle fleur dark chocolates, adriano zumbo's macarons and macaron cake(!!!) adriano zumbo's pastries are one of the best ive ever eaten in my life! it was really, really awesome. beyond words kinda awesomeness yknw? besides, im a pastry freak. and i mean it. heh heh. i'd die for cakes and any sweet treats!

ROSES ARE RED MANDIES ARE ORANGE:
Biscuit macaron, rose creme brulee, mandarin curd, mandarin creme legere (Gluten Free)
this is the macaron cake i had! its about 10x the size of a normal macaron in terms of height and diameter, just like a small cake! even the macarons there were just awesome. usuallly we have the biscuit macaron with a single layer of creme in between but this was just different. the creme was thick with some nuts or somesort of stuff!!

a photo of the macaron innards.
just look at how thick the creme is.
verdict? singapore's standard of macaron - NO FIGHT.

belle fleur chocolates. one of the most famous chocolate brands in aussie i heard :) ed got me the dark chocolate. i must say the aftertaste was awfully bitter cus it lingered at the back of my tongue for a really long time. but the bites will never fail you :) very authentic dark chocolate.

terrence's birthday dinner at cafe swiss, raffles city.
price per pax : about $73
not sure if it was national day weekend thus the price or if its the usual pricing.
cafe swiss serves swiss and asian food. i'd say avoid all the local asian food there like roti prata and oyster omelette because theyre the groasest ive ever had. none were fragrant. pastries were savoury. they werent too sweet and very pleasant for the tastebuds.
ambience was an eight (i love the high ceiling concept. makes the place look really sophisticated) and service was rather decent.

met up with abi and germy for high tea at twg tea on a sat afternoon! miss this two girls!! ive been more than two years since ive last saw them. seriously, abigail stays the same and i believe she always will. well... nothing bad about it anyway. its just that her character doesnt suit her future potential lawyer job. haha!

germy <3

three of us!

TWG at ion.

we had a celebration set and croque imperial with two different set of teas.
The celebration tea time set consists of a choice of TWG tea, a selection of three finger sandwiches including foie gras, smoked salmon with mascarpone and chives, and the rather adventurous, roma tomatoes and moroccan mint tea infused sauce. For an extra sweet touch, you can also choose two homemade scones or muffins with TWG jelly and whipped cream, or a patisserie, and a choice of three macaroons. The macaroons come in quirky flavours such as Napoleon tea and caramel, earl grey and chocolate and lemon bush tea. tea flavoured macarons are such love since theyre not too sweet.

it would be fun for a girls dayout! :) cost about $30-$35 per pax for the celebration set.
^^

ohyesss!! my bangs are back! and i dyed my hair AGAIN. got it done at toni& guy essensuals this time. i trimmed my bangs three times because i was so anal about getting it perfect. i think i look so much younger like that. its important when i think i look +2 my age. that sucks. people tend to think im about 23! ): i think i'd rather be petite now so i'd look younger.

my new matte biker jacket from maxim, australia :)
awesome material and even awesome price. love the creases on the jacket. mad love!

learning broken strings by james morrison and nelly furtado now!!! <3

i havent found the right time or appropriate mood to write a proper post so thankgod im feelin' it now else my blog's gonna die off.
ive either been lazy or busy. though im not too sure what have i been busy with either. learning new stuff? seminars? studying for M9?(yes i postponed my exams)meeting manufacturer? re-thinking of consignment plans? ed's birthday celebration etc?! actually, i really do not know. lol

i feel like a bummer now and i hate it yet im feeling lazy to do something about it. hope this feeling wouldnt last too long. there are just times i wanna like, chiong all the way in the work and sometimes i just feel so lazy and tired to so do ): i dont like it, life's so stale like that. hope this sucky thing fades off asap!

ed's birthday more or less planned. its going to be W.H.O.A. and im sure hes gonna be SUPERRRRR TOUCHED AND SUPRISED.
yes,EXTREMELY, SUPER DUPER MOOPERRR :)
so ed, if you see this. remind yourself everyday that you have wonderful friends! ^^
cm and ed's leaving for sydney end july. wished i could be with them. hate accomodation issues! ): i want a holiday so badly! i cant wait for october to arrive before my short trip with momsy and jolene!

I CANT UPLOAD PHOTOS BECAUSE IT SAYS MY DISKSPACE'S ALL TAKEN UP OR SOMETHING
whattheheck is this?! ): ive so many awesome photos to share, places ive been and all yet i cant upload a shit. woe is me.

and finally i had an entire day out with mommy today after so long. cus ive always been home way too late. lol. bowling, pool, sukiyaki!! shopping! awesumz. that sums my lovely wednesday. yeh, bumming around again. although with a mediocre score (or lousy as you say it) of only 142 in bowling, im proud of myself cus ive beaten the my cursed 130 from three years ago!!! david khoo, you watchout! HAHA.

apart from randomness as above, theres always something more important thats occuring in my life.
so now, the question is "do i really want it?"
i cant believe we have come such a long way... and still so strong....
